Back to the Beach... South Beach, that is

I didn't feel too well again when I woke up, so I missed boot camp.
There was nothing special going on at work today. I went to Cafe Muse for a healthy lunch and talked to Jen for a minute.
After work, I stopped at Pavilions to get the stuff I needed to make dinner; I hadn't been prepared enough when we went shopping last night. Brandon, Angie, Luther and Bradley were coming over for a little dinner party/movie night. Like me, Brandon and Angie are doing the South Beach diet so I wanted to make a really delicious meal that fit the requirements of phase I, using the recipes from the South Beach book. I got cauliflower, fat-free half n' half, and spray "I can't believe it's not Butter" to make South Beach Surprise Mashed Potatoes (surprise, it's actually cauliflower!); and I also made stuffed mushrooms and a shrimp cocktail with mustard horseradish sauce instead of cocktail sauce. The main dish was Salmon Kebabs, which also had green and red bell peppers, mushroom, and red onion and were marinated in a mustard/olive oil sauce. It all turned out delicious, although unfortunately both Brad and Luther ended up not being able to make it, so it was just the four of us. Brandon and I were the only ones hungry enough to have desert later, which was ricotta creme with peach sugar-free jello.
We watched an episode of "Fear Itself" titled "Community" but it wasn't one of my favorites although the two main stars were Shiri Applebee from Roswell and Brandon Routh from Superman and Zack & Miri Make a Porno. It was sort of like a Stepford Wives where they move to this gated community to start a family but then when they aren't able to conceive within the first six months of living there, the community members start making their "concern" very well known, and it becomes clear that their neighbors are hiding something.
That was all we ended up watching, as Angie wasn't feeling well (all of us were feeling under the weather to some degree) so we decided to call it a night.

NEW YEARS RESOLUTION LOG ENTRY 29
Bros - "I Quit" 12" vinyl single. I think I picked this one up at Record Surplus, one of my favorite places in LA. It's probably the second biggest used record store after Amoeba, and their prices are much cheaper, although it's less organized (which can be fun when record hunting). I loved Bros. back in the day, but this song never did too much for me. I mainly got it because the sleeve was kind of cool, yellow with the lyrics printed REALLY big on the cover, and then with a slick inner sleeve that came out with the rest of the lyrics and information. For those of you following my blog, you might remember that Matt Goss, the lead singer of Bros., recently released a new album and his single "Evil" made my Top 10 of 2009 countdown.
