Father's Day

It was father's day, so Brandon and I were walking out to his car because I thought I left my bag of clothes in his car (I didn't; it was in Dylan's). While we were walking down the hallway in the Riviera, we both called dad to wish him a happy father's day, but Brandon beat me to the punch and I got the voice mail. Brandon put me on the phone with dad when he was done, but dad thought he was supposed to hand the phone to mom so I just ended up talking to mom but then the call was dropped.
Then Brandon and I went to this deli in the casino to get some food; I got some spring rolls and a slice of coconut cake - yummy!
Dylan, Brandon, Angie and I got our swimsuits on and went down to the pool for the afternoon. It was pretty sunny and warm, but there was also a nice little breeze. The pool was pretty nice and we had a good time relaxing.
Eventually, Luther and Andy made it down but they were wanting to go eat at a buffet so they didn't join us.
After the pool, Brandon and Angie got ready to head back to LA because they both have to work on Monday. We walked them down to the car and helped carry their stuff. We all agreed that this had been the best trip to Vegas ever. I was happy that we all had such a great time and that the show went so well.
After they left, Dylan and I went over to Slots of Fun and I got the obligatory hot dog and shrimp cocktail. I put a few nickels in here and there, going up and down. I was on a slot machine that had been going up and down for quite awhile when Dylan came over and said he was ready to head down to Aria. Our friend Josep had been in Vegas the week before, and forgotten to cash out at Aria so he gave the slip of paper to Dylan and asked if he could retrieve his money. I told Dylan I was about ready to leave, when I pulled the lever, and the thing started ding-ding-dinging like mad! The numbers started going up, up, up as we watched in amazement. In the end, I had won over $106 off of the $5 bill I had put in. Not bad! I cashed out, put the $100 bill in my wallet and vowed not to go and blow it on another machine. To celebrate, I got one of those insane huge plastic tubes filled with piña colada. It was way too sweet and I can't even begin to imagine how many calories must have been in it.
We went back to the Riviera to get Luther and Andy, which proved to be a task, but eventually we got them and we were about to get on the bus down the strip to Aria. I had given the tube of piña colada to Luther but they wouldn't let him bring it on the bus, so he had to throw it away. Probably for the best.
We got down to Aria and found that it was a really sleek, high-class looking place. It wasn't one of the regular garish casinos, it was really well done and looked from the outside like some office skyscraper in Tokyo.
After Dylan got Josep's cash, we walked around looking for a place to eat but everything looked really flossy and expensive. So we walked across the street and ate at the Harley Davidson Cafe, which was actually really good. We had BBQ platters that each couple shared.
We walked back up the strip all the way home to the Riviera which was quite a trek, and involved lots of delirious laughter (I think we were all a little kooky by this point from the weird hours, the heat, and the walking) and calling everyone a "power bottom" and trying to avoid this Frank Sinatra wannabe who had tried to sell Luther and Andy a time share earlier today.
We stopped at 7-11 right near the hotel to get more snacks and alcohol. Back in the room, we chilled out and watched TV and talked about going downtown, which had been our plan for the evening, but now it was getting late and the comfort of our bed was making Dylan and I change our minds about going back out.
Luther and Andy decided they were hungry again so they went out to McDonald's across the street so Dylan and I fell asleep while they were gone.

Hello 2010, goodbye junk!
