My Birthday

It was my birthday and Susan wanted to take me out to lunch to our usual birthday spot, Mikado. It's a sushi restaurant attached to a hotel that's a block away from where Dylan lived when I met him. So, I went into work at HPOA in the morning because Kerry and I went to tour a new project at 11am, and then I just went straight up to the valley afterward. It was me, Susan, Jeff, Diana, and Jim at lunch and we had a great time. Susan and Jeff ordered everything because they go there all the time and know what to get. We had some sake, oysters, and tons of different sushi. It was all delicious! They kept bringing stuff out to our table and it was all just amazing. It was a great birthday treat. We went back to Susan's afterward and Jim and I worked on cutting checks and other stuff. Dylan had plans for me so I went home and he told me to get ready because he was taking me to get a massage for my birthday! It was an awesome birthday present. I was really needing a mass...

Happy Birthday, Robert!

We made it back from Canada late last night so I was very tired when I woke up today, but I had that song stuck in my head still so I ended up working on it a little bit in the morning before work, thus I was a little bit late getting to the office. The song is called "Winnipeg Beach." Laura posted a bunch of pics from Canada on Facebook. I am definitely having Canada withdrawals, it sounds so weird to say that I missed Winnipeg so much. I just had such a great time there and met so many amazing people. I was really bummed though cause LA Pride is coming up this weekend, and Dylan and I were so excited about Kevin coming down from Portland to stay with us, and he had called yesterday while we were at the Minneapolis airport to say he couldn't come after all (don't remember if I mentioned that already). Now I'm not even sure if I'm looking forward to LA Pride. I had my first little 'toe in the water' moment today with my new job when I went to the S...

Open/Closed

I made it to boot camp; we were at Runyon today and we were supposed to bring jump ropes, but I forgot. I had to borrow someone else's and the workout was so hard. We jumped roped for 3 minutes, then did high knee hops up and down the tennis court, then had to run up to the top via the stairway, touch the fence, and run back and do it all again. I was sweating up a storm and was far more tired afterward than usual. At work, I realized I needed to pay bills so I called Susan to see when I should come up. She told me it was Diana's birthday and they were going out for sushi so I should come join them and do checks either before or after. So I went up around noon and actually got all the checks done before we left for lunch. We went to Mikado which is on Riverside Drive just across from what used to be the Studio Suite where Shitting Glitter played a few gigs, and a block away from where Dylan lived when we first met. I have to say this was one of the most memorable lunches ...

Carrie returns to LA

Slept in nice and late but got up in time to get some housework done since Carrie arrives today. I made brunch with eggs and the leftover spinach stuffing from the mushrooms last night, and celery with peanut butter. See how good I'm doing on South Beach? Dylan and I went through a lot of our vinyl to weed out more, so I will probably be going through them in groups or one by one for my resolution log but need more time to organize before we take the records to Amoeba. We played quite a few records while we worked too, so it was fun. Dylan went for a bike ride while I worked a little on Brad's video but then I got a sudden urge to work on a cover song. The song is "Hunters of the Night" which was Mr. Mister's first single and wasn't really a big hit; most people don't really know it because it was before Mr. Mister hit it big with "Broken Wings." I only know it from the best of album I had bought after moving to LA but was reminded of it las...
