sad news

I had bad news waiting for me in my inbox when I woke up this morning. My cousin Andrea is in the hospital with some serious issues in her little intestine. She had problems when we were little and was in the hospital for what seemed like a year, but it has been fine until now. They're hoping that it will work itself out but if it doesn't they might have to operate which is really risky for that type of surgery. I'm really worried about her. Today we had our first meeting since the news that I'm leaving so it was a little awkward. Some board members were making jokes trying to lighten the mood. It went pretty well overall though I thought. Boot camp was at Runyon canyon again today. We didn't have to jump rope but it was still hard. Hello 2010, goodbye junk! NEW YEARS RESOLUTION LOG ENTRY 139 "O3" by Sunscreem, cassette tape. This was an original tape that I bought when it came out, and became one of the main soundtracks to my sophomore year ...

Sick Day

I definitely felt very crummy by the time I woke up. My throat was still sore, and I felt groggy and like I was underwater. I don't know if I even realized the alarm was going off for boot camp, cause I had taken some Nyquil last night and sometimes that makes me disoriented in the morning. I do know I finally got up at 8:45 and realized I couldn't make it in to work, so I called and left a message on Susan's voicemail saying I was out sick. I went back to bed and woke up around 10:30 but stayed in bed for probably another hour, before I ventured out to the living room to lay on the couch (big accomplishment) so I could watch TV. DVR is one thing that has made being sick better, because instead of having to watch dreadful daytime TV you can get caught up on whatever shows you missed. Finally around 2pm I got up and walked in the rain over to Subway to get a sandwich. I wasn't even that hungry, but I had to go to the post office anyway because Amazon had ordered mor...

Boot up my @ss

The rain had already stopped this weekend, so it was a good time to start Boot Camp, although physically I was clearly not ready. I didn't feel all that great when I got up but I didn't feel horrible. I got to Plummer Park before 7am and Luther was the only one there before me. Tony showed up second, then Jim and finally Robin, Moses and Jasten. We started out OK with some leg raises and then some arm and shoulder stuff, and some bicep exercises using our arm bands, but by that time I started feeling a little queasy. I think I threw up 2 out of the 4 first days of boot camp last year, which one of them didn't really count since there was no break between the 3rd and 4th. I thought I was in better shape now since I had done 4 months of boot camp last year, but apparently my bad habits had gotten the best of me over the holidays, because I had to excuse myself from the group and go puke in a corner of the park. It was embarrassing and irritating, but afterward I felt m...
